Fantastic VRBO Experience!
House, Hosts and Property were extraordinary for both man and beasts! Multiple indoor/outdoor socializing areas. Well stocked cooking/food prep kitchen just needs a few more teaspoons! Extended dining room table sat 8 (houseguests and locals) comfortably. Newer upgrades not shown in pics include additional seating on screened porch and staircase carpeting that was much appreciated by our dogs. So enjoyable we're looking for new reasons to return! Thank you Kim and Mike!

This was a beautiful home and was the perfect home from home travelling from Scotland. Comfortable, incredible location, clean and first class attention to detail - what more could you ask for! We used Mike and Kim’s property as a base to explore upstate NY and it was perfect for where we wanted to explore. Most comfortable beds and allowed us to relax and unwind after a full day visiting the surrounding Catskills and Adirondack areas. Mike and Kim where amazing hosts and made sure we had what we needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. To quote Noah (our youngest visitor) “If we move to America, this would definitely be the house I’d love to stay in” - certainly sums all of our thoughts as it exceeded all our expectations. We would recommend to anyone looking for a different place to stay while in the area and hope to visit again in the future! Thanks again The Duffy’s!

This is a wonderful home with lots of history. Michael and Kim have made an amazing space for guests and are available right next door if you need anything. We loved all the wonderful outside spaces along with their warm and inviting home. Bring your bike - very closed to a wonderful rail trail to explore the area.

I like that assorted family members could gather - dining room, living room, fire pit. And that we could get some space from each other! The house is well appointed and pleasant. The hosts were so nice. Answered every question quickly. Built us a bonfire when we realized it wouldn’t rain that night - I just asked if it might be possible and before i knew it, it was going strong. Thanks so much for your help in going to our family wedding nearby.
This is one of the most charming and comfortable Airbnbs that we've stayed in. Kim and Michael have done a beautiful job decorating the house with period details. There was plenty of space, the kitchen was well equipped, and the hosts were friendly and accessible. We really felt at home. An added bonus was sitting on the back porch and watching birds at the backyard feeder. A peaceful, relaxing and gracious place to stay!

This was a fantastic place for my kids and I to hang our hats for five days this year. Centrally located in the capital region of New York it made it very easy for us to visit various family members that all lived within a 20 to 30 minute radius of this home. Walking in the home was like going back into a time capsule. I really enjoyed all of the beautiful woodwork and furniture. This home has everything you need to make your stay pleasant and convenient. I am hoping to make this a yearly destination!

COUNTRY TRANQUILITY
Myself, partner and three of our closest friends spent a most wonderful weekend in this charming and uniquely and beautifully decorated house. The front porch is so inviting with lush hanging ferns adorning the front of the house It was such a pleasant experience sitting there early morning and being serenaded by the different birds in the area. The house had everything we needed to prepare our meals and the living room was very comfortable and with Roku, Netflix and Amazon prime, we were thoroughly entertained In every corner of the house there was artwork and eye catching decorations with specific themes that created an appealing ambience. My particular favorite was the bicycle room which had such a clever design and a Parisien feel. The backyard was a spacious and serene hideaway shaded by magnificent trees, home to flying squirrels, owls and beautiful birds. Kim and Mike could not have been more gracious and personable hosts and were very welcoming The beds were very comfortable and we all felt this was a very special house. The area is very scenic and the tree arboretum nearby was a lovely place to discover and enjoy the variety of trees in the area. We can t wait to return to this most pleasurable sojourn.

My husband and I along with a friend (3 people total) stayed at Grey Gables in late August to visit the area. Kim and Mike made our stay perfectly comfortable. They did a great job updating their historic home with all the modern conveniences. I'm glad we visited in the summer so we had a chance to enjoy the beautiful backyard with a garden and fire pit. In fact, Mike set up the fire pit for us and had it ready to go. I only regret not bringing marshmallows. I'm confident we'll turn into repeat customers. We're already thinking about our next trip. We'll bring our bikes next time for the rail trail just minutes away from the property. And, there are lots of great restaurants nearby but if you'd rather cook, they have a fully equipped kitchen and a grocery store in town. I can't wait to visit again in the fall or winter. I can only imagine what the woods behind the house look like with the changing leaves. I highly recommend Kim and Mike's place. Booked for my husband’s 50th birthday weekend with his daughter who is a doctoral student at the University of Albany. Super nice owners, great kitchen to cook a birthday dinner, very spacious for the four of us. The owner helped my daughter decorate for my husband’s birthday before we arrived. Terrific, relaxing weekend! Owners even changed the date for me when I realized I made a mistake and had another obligation the weekend I booked. Fantastic all the way around

This is a lovely home that is very comfortable and inviting, and Kim and Mike were very accommodating and informative. It was also very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. Book this house. You will not be disappointed. These are the nicest people I have never met. They accommodated 12 people for our Thanksgiving meal at a very short notice. They had an extra table and 6 chairs. My relatives said it was a 5 star Thanksgiving. The beds are very comfortable. The house is warm and inviting. It had everything you could need. I would not hesitate to book this again. The couches were soft and comfy. The water was warm when needed and the house felt like home. We were not bothered by the owners at all. "MICHAEL AND KIM'S HOME WAS PERFECT FOR OUR FAMILY!"
We traveled in from out of town for a wedding and staying here allowed us more time to spend together than a hotel plus the bonus of not having to find places to eat. They are conveniently located near a large supermarket and had the weather been warmer we would have enjoyed the grounds and porches. Instructions were great, accommodations very comfortable.

We had a wonderful time staying here. Plenty of room, and the house was immaculate and very accommodating. The location was very nice, close to everything but outside of Albany. We were fortunate enough to have a snow day when we were there and the owners provided sleds to my six year old daughter and started a nice bon fire in the backyard for us. It was the highlight of her trip! We will without question stay here again when we are in the area. I would recommend to anyone.

"A LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN!"
A small group of us, former college roommates, gathered at the Grey Gables, for our college reunion weekend. It was the perfect place. The owners live on the other side of the house, which is a duplex, and were there if we needed anything. In fact, they had a bonfire built for us in the backyard fire pit to enjoy the first night we were there. The house was spotless, the kitchen well equipped and there is a perfect running trail just across the street for those who run, bike or walk. We had about 15 people join us one night for cocktails and the layout of the house and the backyard were a perfect setting. I would highly recommend staying here and would love to come back!

There was a grill and fire pit outside for a little house party we had. Michael and Kim answered any questions we had and were easy to contact. We couldn’t be happier! "FAMILY VACATION"
This house was perfect in every way. My brother and his wife, along with my family including 2 kids stayed here for a family vacation for a week. It was wonderful having a full kitchen (great stocking of kitchen items!) and not having to constantly shush the 3 yo from running around in a hotel. It was great for a family gathering we had, Mike and Kim were gracious for the overflow parking and the kids taking over the backyard. The rooms were beautifully decorated and well stocked with blankets though with the heat running, we didn't need them too often. The washer/dryer were great as well. Truly was a wonderful place and we had a wonderful time, definitely recommend it! They even had a pack and play and high chair for our 1 year old. Thank you Mike and Kim!!!

“Above and Beyond”
When traveling, my husband and I most often find a vacation rental as a home base. We like to explore an area but eat in and have a living space to enjoy. Thus far, this is the place to beat, Kim and her husband went above and beyond the usual rental. The house was spacious, comfortable, quiet and clean, but also the spice rack has all the essentials, all dish soap, laundry, hand soap and shampoo are provided. The owners are there if needed but invisible if not.
We stayed with five adults for a long wknd. We were all comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

“Kim got back to me immediately”
We had to travel up to New York suddenly for a funeral all the way from North Carolina. Being a family of 7, a hotel room is not really an option for us. We found Grey Gables and Kim got back to me immediately and was able to accommodate all of us. She kept in touch with us throughout the whole process and Grey Gables had more than enough room for our crew. We would definitely love to come back to visit and would recommend to any of our friends and family.

We all loved it here. The owners are friendly and helpful. They even started a camp fire for us and had marshmallow and sticks at the ready. The torches were an awesome touch.
The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The backyard hammock was a hit with the kids.

"STUNNING"
Grey Gables is STUNNING! It's more beautiful than the pictures even show. Mike and Kim were there to greet us and were warm, receptive, and communicative, yet gave us privacy, as well. Absolutely a pleasure to stay with them for the week. The inside of the house is all one-of-a-kind antiques, hardwood floors, and rustic, homey charm. I would stay here again in a second!

“Great place to stay”
Convenient location and good value for money. The owner's were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble for them. I cannot praise them highly enough. The home was clean, comfortable rooms and beds, nice area and peaceful setting. Near walking and jogging trails for those who exercise. The kitchen was stocked with items for cooking and making a meal. Decent restaurants in the area. The location is good - close Albany and Saratoga.

"Return Guest"
This is the second time I have had an extended stay with Michael and Kim at Grey Gables, and when business brings me to Albany again, this is the first place I'll book. The house is just stunning - so homey, beautifully decorated, and has everything you need for an extended stay. It's a quiet, tranquil place, for sure. I was visiting for almost two weeks on this last trip, and Michael and Kim invited me to Easter Brunch with some other family and friends (so I wouldn't be alone on a holiday) and it was above and beyond what you'd expect from your Airbnb hosts. Great food, great company, without any pressure at all. Just fantastic. If you're traveling anywhere in the region, THIS is the place to stay, without a doubt. "Welcoming"
My coworker and I spent a week training in Albany and found Mike and Kim's house to be welcoming and very well located. We were very glad to have a place to call home at the end of each day. We made good use of the rail trail which is easy walking distance from the house and is nice and sunny first thing in the morning. We were lucky to find this spot!
